ICSA Benevolent Fund Policy on Grant Aid
The ICSA Benevolent Fund uses the income from its assets for the relief of necessitous persons who are Members or former Members of the Institute, as defined by the objects of the Fund, or those who in the opinion of the Trustees show a clear and direct relationship with the Member.
Grants to individuals are issued at the discretion of the Trustees and with due accordance to the constitution and to the Charities Act 2006. Grants are reviewed when circumstances determine and at least annually.
Trustees delegate the consideration of all applications for assistance to the Benevolence Sub Committee, which holds a minimum of three meetings a year. Between meetings, the Chairman of the Benevolence Sub-Committee has the power in urgent cases to make grants and interest free loans.
If you would like a request to be considered
Please complete the application form and post to the Charities Officer at Park Crescent. The Benevolence Sub-Committee will then consider the application at its next meeting, or by the Chairman who is empowered to make a determination between meetings.
Please be assured that any information provided would remain confidential and would only be stored or used to assist with the administration of your request and provision of any benefit. For example, each applicant is allocated a reference number. Only details regarding specific circumstances are provided to the Chairman and the Committee, along with the allocated number and statement of the applicant's hometown. Names and addresses are not disclosed.
If you have any questions or would like assistance in completing the form, please do not hesitate to contact the Charities Officer.
The Fund is also fortunate to have a number of volunteer visitors, who may be asked to call on you and assist with the completion of the form.
